A Shreveport native and lifelong Tiger, Dr. Schmidt earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from LSU before continuing on to the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, and a Master of Science in Dentistry. He is proud to be a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist, a distinction that reflects his commitment to the highest standards of care, continued education, and clinical excellence in treating children.

After spending time practicing in South Louisiana, Dr. Schmidt felt called to return home to Benton. He is grateful to serve families in Shreveport-Bossier City and to be closer to the people and community who shaped him.

Dr. Schmidt’s passion for working with children began during his college years as a summer camp counselor. Coupled with his own positive experiences at the dentist growing up, he knew he wanted to create that same sense of comfort and confidence for his patients. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Schmidt is a lifelong musician, playing piano since the age of four and teaching himself guitar in college. He enjoys exploring new restaurants, spending time with family—especially his nephew—and catching up with friends. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the NWLA Dental Association.
