meet Dr. Chris Schmidt

A Shreveport native and lifelong Tiger, Dr. Schmidt earned his BS in Biology from LSU and went on to receive his DDS, a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, and a Master of Science in Dentistry from the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. After spending time in South Louisiana, Dr. Schmidt felt the call to return home to Benton, where he’s excited to serve the patients of SBC and be closer to his family.

His passion for working with children began during his college years as a summer camp counselor, and his own positive experiences at the dentist inspired him to create the same for his young patients. It was during dental school, while working in the pediatric clinic, that Dr. Schmidt realized his calling for Pediatric Dentistry.

Outside of the office, Dr. Schmidt is a lifelong musician, playing piano since the age of four and teaching himself guitar in college. He loves trying new restaurants, spending time with his family—especially his nephew—and hanging out with friends. Dr. Schmidt is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the NWLA Dental Association.
